Regional Health Inspection in Blagoevgrad implements the project activity through the purchase and installation of 5 information KIOSKs for providing information to the target groups in the towns of Petrich, Satovcha, Hadzhidimovo, Gotse Delchev and Blagoevgrad.
The need to supply 5 information KIOSKs is due to the following significant factors:
the population of the cross-border area faces significant health challenges, especially in remote areas and areas of concentration of special / vulnerable / population groups.
improving access to highly specialized medical activities for vulnerable population groups (in isolated and socially disadvantaged communities) through the implementation of activities for the prevention of socially significant diseases in the cross-border area.
Blagoevgrad District is located in the southwestern part of the Republic of Bulgaria. To the North, it borders with Kyustendil and Sofia districts, to the east with Pazardzhik and Smolyan regions, to the south with Greece and to the west with Macedonia. The terrain is very rugged, in places high mountainous. There are 14 municipalities with 280 populated areas, mainly located along the Struma and Mesta rivers. An increasing number of patients with socially significant diseases are reported on the territory of Blagoevgrad district in the areas with limited access to highly specialized medical activities.
